Food Imponderables

Why does ice cream taste better out of the carton?
Milk too.

Why does salty stuff taste so much better after sweet stuff?

Why do I enjoy the "stuff" in the ice cream more than the ice cream itself?

Why is it that eating sugar during the day makes me sleepy, but eating it in the evening keeps me awake really really late?

How come some people lose their appetites when they're depressed (read: dumped) and some (read:me) don't?

I am one who LOVES sweets after a big meal. But not in the form of dessert, really more like a cnady bar or something small. But I am with you on the ice cream from the carton, it is ALWAYS the best.

I like to save time & effort and have salt IN sweet stuff. Like nut brittle made with salted peanuts - great stuff! :)

Probably because you have a blog to expel all that depression on! Some people only have ice cream! :P

Slinger, I'd still count a candy bar as dessert! mmmmmm candy. ; )

Dominic, I'm still on the fence with salty/sweet but I know it's very very popular! But, I can almost taste that peanut brittle!

The Ex, :P back at cha!

We need to get you out having some new adventures so that this Smith thing can properly be put to rest.

Maybe that should be the plan for the weekend. Forget work just for a bit, grab a girl friend and go whoop it up.

Unless of course, that's what you accomplished at GCBF and have yet to tell us about.

Either way, go have some fun and forget whatever his name was. You're forever talking about all the guys giving you the eye at the gym, so I'm pretty certain you should be able to have a little fun. :)

Well, I'll see what I can do Delton.

Why is it that organic costs more when they put less "stuff" on it?

Hey, yeah!

Good point.

I'm not a big sweets person. I really only have ice cream once a year. I just can't resist those two hippies from vermont. Last week was that week. So thisweek is Guilt Week for me.

See, I actually tend to put ice cream in its own category as I'd take chocolate or a pure sugar drip over ice cream any day.
Good luck with guilt week! ; )

When you take away the right to comment, I must find new ways to speak my mind. Therefore, I'll comment here in response to this which may or may not continue to exist. I have to say that I value your strength for putting this out there. Even if you end up changing your mind. Anything that screws with one's self-image is important, no matter the size or weight of the issue.

So, anyway, thanks for sharing with us! I love to read this type of post. The more real the blog post, the more each blogger bares their soul, the more we all begin to understand each other and find ways to connect. As always, I wish you the best.

Ok you HAVE to stop posting pictures of ice cream. ;)

I went grocery shopping the other night and it was all I could do to not open up the B&J freezer in Safeway as I walked by thinking about your post.

Trying to eat healthy is so boring sometimes!

Victoria said...

Thanks Delton.

Likalia, I know what you mean about the boring, but since I'm killing you with the ice cream I won't bother to mention that B&J has a frozen yogurt that tastes so good you'd swear it was ice cream!!!!! ; )

Likalia said...

Gee thanks, I am totally NOT going to go look for that in the freezer section. ;)

*hugs* re "to post or not to post"

B & J, along with Ernest and Julio have gotten me through some rough times.
Were you talking about the New York Chocolate Brownie frozen yogurt? Of what I've tried, that may be my favourite. ;)

Have you been to the B & J's at Mayfair Mall? They have lots of flavours you can't get in the grocery stores. I have a container of "Chocolate Therapy" in my freezer right now. ;)

Yvonne, I was talking about the Cherry Garcia (Low Fat Frozen Yogurt) I swear it's better than some "regular" ice creams! ; )
I'll have to look out for the NYCB too.

And yes, I have been to the place in Mayfair, my friend made sure of that! Chocolate Therapy sounds good!
