OK, That Was Funny

I was just at the gym, on the treadmill (not #5 though), flipping through some magazine.

The article I was reading referred to a certain part of the world I didn't know much about.

So I started to lean and reach.

To click on the link.

I think I've been reading too many blogs!

That is so funny! I catch myself doing something similar on an alarmingly regular basis... we have a PVR at home for TV, so I fast forward, pause, replay etc.

Often when something happens in real life and I miss part of it or someone's speaking too quietly for me to hear them really well, I'll instinctively think to myself "hit replay!" and then a second or two later it dawns on me that that only works on TV.

Isn't it weird/crazy/funny/creepy when we do stuff like that? : D

Wow! That would be a great invention:
A treadmill with a built-in interactive
entertainment system with internet
connectivity.

However, it might be too good of an
invention. I'm serious! It might
create such an addiction that people
will forget they've been running on the
treadmill for half the day. If you
think this is too far-fetched, you
should know that a 28yr old guy in
South Korea died
from dehydration,
starvation and lack of sleep after
playing an online game for 50hours.

"Hello Boss? I'm calling in sick. I can't
get out of bed because I accidentally
ran 75km yesterday. I'd go see the
doctor but I can't get out of bed even
to do that."

After spending far too much time on my computer, I once dreamed I was in the computer game surrounded by monsters. I made a mad run for the keyboard so I could type in a cheat code.

Somehow, it all made sense while it was happening...

YNBF, I've already seen treadmills with cable tv, yikes. But maybe it could have an automatic shutoff so people wouldn't.. you know, forget to sleep/drink/etc.?

Dominic, you've just given me a thought, maybe what I'm missing in my life right now are romance cheat codes? Hmmmmmm.... ; )

Jenn, you're not missing a link.... there's just a gaping hole in my post because sometimes my brain goes blank like that! hee hee

Hee hee, silly you! :)

last week at work I was chatting to a colleauge in the kitchen and held my mug up to what I thought was the hot water thingy and I noticed she was giving me a funny look. Then I realised it was the paper towel dispenser.

Ok, I read your post three times trying to figure out what you were linking to. I even tried to highlight the blank spot, thinking you had something hidden there with white text. Then it finally dawned on me what you were saying. I think we're all pretty ingrained with the idea that there's more info attached to everything.

Heh. Now I've confused two people in one post, I'm so awesome!

Weird huh, that we're getting used to the idea of multi-layered text information?

or something? ; )
