Ummmmm.... Yeah.. No.

You know, I'm just not going to ever date again.

No, really.

I have re-dipped my toe back in the dating pool and found that it's not a place I want to be. So now my toes and all the rest of me is being taken back off the shelf to live happily ever after as a single girl therefore never having to worry about changing the name of this site.

I really can't be bothered and I really don't have the emotional energy and I really can't put up with one more lame situation so I'm done.

So. Yeah. How YOU doin?

Oh you know you don't mean that! Although it is possible to remain single and be happy ever after. Err... I guess I just contradicted myself.

I'm pretty good thanks for asking. You sound like you could use a hug though, or a yummy mellow monk since they make everything better. :)

Single; coupled; whatever; I think have fun and if you aren't well fix that. Or some such useful insight.

Oh pooey, dont say that....I wanted to hear something encouraging like " i just came back from experiancing the best kiss ever" seeing as I am going on my first date with a mystery man this weekend :P

Oh man, I really don't miss dating! It was like some horrid thing I had to do to find my husband. I wish I could have just found him in the first place!!!

It's a murky, filthy, full-of-dubious creatures and random pieces of refuse pool.

I avoid it myself. Every now and then (usually after long periods of involuntary celibacy), I give into temptation and stick a toe in, but usually I'm able to remember to stay away from it.

If you ever decide to dip that toe in again, maybe I can be one of your dating gurus. You know, to help you interpret the tea leaves from the male perspective.

You realize that because you just said all that ... you are going to end up meeting someone and eating all your words in very short order. ;)

And things are good ... I am on your coast, it is much warmer here.

You poor thing. That sucks for you. Not necessarily the staying single part, but the fact that you gave it another shot and already had some bad experience. And how is it you can present something like this and make me laugh so? I hope you and your toes do live happily ever after, although I'm quite sure many of us would follow you to "advicefromanotsosinglegirlanymore" or some such new address.

I'm doing fine, by the way. Thanks for asking!

Tod, maybe I mean it for now...or for a little while? I know I'd love to have a life partner, but right now trying to find one just isn't working for me. I'm glad you contradicted yourself. I do it all the time!

Likalia, glad you're doin' well! And yeah, I could do with a hug or seven. Hmmm, a monk. That could work! And I'll take your useful insight and run with it : )

Leah, just because I'm a stick in the mud doesn't mean you're not going to have the most perfect time! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!!!!

Mrs. Wilson, yeah, I hear you. I'd love it if my husband would just show up. You know, a knock on the door. "Hi, are you Victoria? Yeah, well I got this note from the Universe that you're my wife so.. um.. hi!" That'd be rad.

Alexandra, I second what you said. Murky...filthy...etc. : )

Thomas, if I do go dipping again, I'll happily ask you to interpret all the tea leaves. ; )

TSG, while I'm almost always willing to eat my words.... I don't want to have to right now. I think I'm too grumpy! Glad things are good. Do you like our warmth? (That's a weird word to spell, eh?)

Delton, yeah, I'm disappointed it didn't go well. Getting back on the horse and all. Sucks that it wasn't a good experience. I mean, not that it was horrible, just really lame. And disappointing. I hope my toes and I are fine too, but I'll keep that blog address in mind. ; ) Glad you're doing well!

I completely agree with you - I've had it with it all - I'm boycotting the stupidity and regaining my toes as you say... want to share some of my soy ice cream? Btw I'm watching Pretty in Pink..

Yay for Pretty in Pink. And, yeah! Send me some soy ice cream! : )

hi, I feel like there may be a sotry behind that post. I know how you feel though, I've banned myself from dating for the past few months because it can be just so emotionally draining...

Victoria said...

Hi Mel. Yeah, there's a bit of a story I guess : ) But,absolutely, it can be so draining. *sigh* ; )

Uh oh, still kissing those nasty frogs? ;(

I'm sorry this hasn't worked out for you and I totally commiserate with you. {hugs}

In the last couple of months I decided I shouldn't judge all men because my most recent ex was/is an ass. And I've had a few fun times, even one semi-regular romp friend. But absolutely nothing with future possibilities.

It would be so much easier if you could just ask right at the beginning "are you him?", get the definite yes or no and just get on with things.

Then again, I'm always happy to have another single sister and will try to embrace my inevitable singleton existence. I'll bring the Ben and Jerry's. ;)

Yvonne, sounds good to me!

btw, I'm still curious about the story behind this post!

Victoria said...

oh, the basics of it are a few posts down with the not calling thing.

Victoria, Sorry to read that. I'm not doing so well either. It's been 17 years since I last needed to "dip my toe in". Trying the internet dating thing. God, I feel like I'm in 6th grade again.

Anyway take a break, eat some ice cream. {hugs} from me I'm boycotting Valentine's day!

Victoria said...

Hey, I had fun in 6th grade! Now I feel like I'm back in University. *shudder*
I'll take a break, yep. Good luck to you though! : )

Maybe, you're setting your expectations too high. Instead of looking for Mr. "Right", perhaps you should be looking for Mr. "doesn't smell too bad".

OR

Perhaps, you should relish in your independence (bathe in it even) b/c trust me someday you will be married.

OR

Maybe, you should stop looking altogether and see who shows up.

In any event, I'll have a drink in your honor/honour and hope that makes you feel better.

Your pal,
CNG

Victoria said...

Dear Cocoa,
Please have two drinks for me!
Yours,
Victoria ; )

Am I the only single person on this planet who wonders what life would've been like if I had lived in a Filipino culture where marriages are pre-arranged at birth???

I swear I'd be married to Kate Beckinsale!

(Obviously those cultures knew how frustrating and annoying dating can be so they bypassed it! lol)

Victoria said...

Ryan, I do wonder that sometimes too! I probably wouldn't have ended up with Kate though ; )
