Tap. . .Tap . . . Is This Thing On?

Do any of the rest of you who blog have this problem?

I've got a ton to talk about and a ton to say, but as soon as I sit down to write it out, it all seems to disappear.

Like, I may have a super conversation going on in my head but it's in the middle of a work day or when I'm in the shower or out for a walk or getting groceries and when I get home and sit down to write, my mind goes blank. Or, more to the point, it twists its head to the side like dogs do and goes "Huh?" all cute and innocent and sigh.

Anybody else know what I'm talking about?

I have a post in my drafts folder and a couple of others in my head. They've been there weeks. They just don't want to come out..

I get ideas at the weirdest times - in the shower, on the bus, and when I'm trying to fall asleep at night. I've learned to always carry a pen and a pack of post-its with me to jot things down. Also, it makes me feel like a "real" writer kind of ;)

Happens ALL the time to me.

I shouldn't, but i kinda use twitter as a short draft (with 160 characters, super short), and usually im able to figure it out through that.
Fair to say that most of the time, others have no clue what the heck im saying, but it helps me.

I think the lack of updates on my blog speaks for itself in this regard, I am terrible for this.

Also sometimes when I get home from work where I've spent 8 hours staring at a computer screen, the last thing I want to do on my computer is anything that will require brain power.

Some days it is hard to even chat with friends. :S

My ideas only come when I have something terribly important to do...like study for exams and what not. Unfortunately, the latter takes precedence after many hours of procrastination...at which point, I throw my hands up in frustration and say "WTF." And next thing you know, It's 3 in the morning and I have to wake up at 6.

you can record "notes to self" on your blackberry if you got one.

Good to know I'm not alone!

Julie, I write on a "stickie note" on my computer. Most of the time I remember what I meant by one or two random words :)

Dominic, don't you hate when they stay stuck in there?!

High Heel Gal, I love feeling like a "real" writer! I should do the "carry post-its" thing. Although, they'd get awfully wet in the shower! ;)

Red, so your twitter followers are all "Huh?" but you get it! That's what counts :D

Likalia, I know what you mean about some days you just don't want to chat. I couldn't keep this blog if I had to write a post the night before every single time. I mean, this daily photo taking thing I committed to myself is almost killing me as is! ;) But hey, I wouldn't stress about your blog. I check in regularly and am happy to see an update, but it's ok if there isn't one too. So don't stress!

Oh, TOitB, that *would* suck. Your brain playing tricks on you with time and pressure!
I don't have a Blackberry though, so I'll just have to stick with stickie notes :)

Oh my goodness.... I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I have also started TONS of posts and then as I'm typing away I realize I can't post this because it makes no sense! And sometimes I think, it makes too much sense and I'm not sure if I'm ready for the world to be that much in my head!

I usually end up just posting the posts that make no sense anyway, cuz otherwise I'd never post! Hee!
