Cheers!

Happy Canada Day y'all!

I feel so lucky to live in one of the most beautiful cities in this beautiful country and am very grateful that my parents decided to settle and raise their family in Canada.

To all my Canadian friends out there, I hope you have a great Canada Day and to all my non-Canadian friends, I'm officially making you an honorary Canadian for the day!

And now I go downtown to enjoy the celebrations and people and to, quite probably eat ice cream and giant pretzels and wear my red and white with pride.

Have a great day y'all, and Happy Birthday Canada! Joyeuse FĂȘte du Canada!

PS Here's some bonus Canadiana for you, eh?

Hoorah!!!!

What are my duties as an honorary Canadian?

Will there be hot sailors like at that other thing you went to?

Yay! Ok Charles, here's what you need to do: hang out with your good friends (and gf) and have a really good time with lots of laughs. If there are any fireworks you can watch, go for it, but make sure you're polite in the crowd and that you smile a lot.

No hot sailors today though, sorry. Usually hot young guys wearing red though?

Oh, and make sure you spell things with a "U".

You're three days too early. All great American patriots know that the real holiday is July 4. (And please don't hold the fact that we tried to invade Canada during the War of Independence in any way color your feelings for this great nation of ours. We were only trying to help.)

I'm going to spell all kinds of shut with a "u" today. ;-) (see what I did there?)

In regards to michael's inflammatory comment: uh oh.

Gud Jub with the spelling Charles! (I did it too!)

As for the comment, well, I've got enough chocolate and cotton candy in my system this morning that it doesn't even matter :)

OK, maybe I got a little excited there. I remember Canada Day from my childhood in Detroit; we used to celebrate both holidays with Windsor (which was in a foreign country, but they spoke our language pretty well). Anyway, it was two days of fireworks and parties.

Have a great holiday!

chocolate and cotton candy sound like a recipe for stomach acid disaster...

Well that sounds fun Michael! I say we all just turn it into a massive four day weekend and call it North America Week! Happy fourth (in a few days) :)

Charles, my stomach is so used to an influx of sugar it's almost not funny ;)

Uh oh, Charles. I may have spoken too soon. . .
