Um....

How do spam...people make their money?  Like, do people really click on "hi I'm a horny pretty girl and I want to meet you right now" and... pay money for ... I don't even?

I mean, I assume they're making money or they'd stop with the weird ads and emails and stuff.  Maybe I'm wrong?

Yes, yes - people do actually click on that stuff. People also think a Nigerian prince is going to forward millions of dollars to their bank account for safe keeping.

The cost of spam is low - sending out 1 million "Hey. give me your banking information and access to your accounts and I'll send you money" emails is very cheap. So cheap that if 1 person in 1 million bites and sends you that information, and you clean out the few thousand $ in their account, you're making a profit.

And a surprisingly large number of people will bite.

That is right Jason ... there is one born every minute ... or perhaps even more than one.

But... but... I thought *I* was the only one that prince emailed J!

Fair enough Jason, I hadn't considered the cheapness.

True that Anne ;)
