Sorry, Hang On

Sorry, got bumped around a bit this weekend... a tv show that broke me, then a family gathering to celebrate a big event, then a friend who was hurting and needed some support, then a two thirty wakeup by the police outside my window dealing with bad guys and then the news, yesterday morning, that a musical icon and love of mine has a terminal illness.

I just need to sit for a minute here, so posting is on the back burner...  Just need a breath.

2016 is just full of gut punches, so far.

Such terrible, terrible news. They are one of my all time favs. I've seen them over 20 times. Gord is awesome live. Really hoping to get tickets for the tour. There won't be a dry eye in the crowd, including mine.

I have such mixed feelings about this tour, I have no idea how I'll handle knowing it's the last time.

I hear you on that one. We've been talking around in circles. I really love to see them perform, but I don't know how I'll feel knowing it the last time. We saw them last year in Oshawa and then again at a casino, and they were awesome. My favourite concert was an outdoor concert in...wait for it...Bobcaygeon. So amazing.

I know there will be tears. There already has been tears driving to work listening to my fav songs.

Yeah, I've seen them a fair bit, always a great show. Awesome that you saw them in Bobcaygeon :) I, right now, can't even think about it without tears. My friend suggests looking at it as a way to give back to him and them, but I can't imagine how hard it will be for them as well. Hard to wrap your head around.

So very hard. And the local rock station is playing Wheat Kings and a tear just hit the keyboard. Great.

There are a handful of songs I both do and don't want to hear at the show. Wheat Kings is one of them. *hugs*

Me too. *hugs back*

I was volunteering in the canteen at the local arena for the minor hockey Christmas tournament a few years ago. Rob Baker's son was playing goalie for Kingston. He bought a coffee and after my initial OMG ROB BAKER!!! we had a nice chat. It was pretty surreal.

Now you guys have gone and made me tear up, and I was being so strong.

I've seen the Hip perform live more than any other band. And I also am not sure how to approach this final tour.

Pretty sure I have to go, though.
